Joseph Scott Morgan is the Distinguished Scholar of Applied Forensics at Jacksonville State University in Alabama, where he is an associate professor. He began his career in 1985 at the Jefferson Parish Coroner’s Office in New Orleans, then served as senior investigator with the Fulton County Medical Examiner in Atlanta, where he helped establish the national training guidelines for medicolegal death investigators. He holds a Master of Forensic Sciences. His memoir, Blood Beneath My Feet: The Journey of a Southern Death Investigator, made him Georgia Author of the Year in 2013. He hosts the podcast Body Bags with Joseph Scott Morgan and has appeared on CNN and Headline News as an on-air forensics expert.

He appeared on the Julian Dorey Podcast with Baron Coleman for a four-hour review of the Charlie Kirk evidence: the wound and what the spinal cord tells you, the medical examiner’s report, the autopsy, the immediate embalming, the crime scene errors and the chain of custody.
